คำอธิบาย
I am doing something ฉันกำลังทำบางอย่างอยู่ นั่นคือ เริ่มทำแล้ว
และขณะนี้ยังทำไม่เสร็จ ส่วนใหญ่ขณะที่พูดการกระทำนั้นยังดำเนินอยู่
แต่การกระทำก็ไม่จำเป็นต้องเกิดขึ้นในขณะที่พูดอยู่เสมอไป
เช่น Stephanie wants to go to Korea, so
she is learning Korean. (แต่เธออาจจะไม่ได้เรียนภาษาเกาหลีอยู่ในขณะนั้นก็ได้)
เช่น My friend is building his
own house. (แต่เขาอาจจะไม่ได้ก่อสร้างอยู่ในขณะนั้นก็ได้
ประมาณว่าช่วงนี้เขากำลังสร้างบ้านอยู่)
ใช้ Present perfect เมื่อพูดถึงสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นหรือเปลี่ยนแปลงในช่วงเวลาใกล้ๆกับขณะนี้
